Inspirational Obama Mural at Scope Miami 2008
SCOPE Miami 2008 always brings a ton of art nattering for your attention. The cherry on top this year is the vast presence of the Obama welcome wagon. But any triumph in commercial art is one less starving artist on the street, so I welcome this installation with a school-girl crush.
This large- scale portrait of our future leader by one of Los Angeles’ most prominent street artists, Mr. Brainwash (a.k.a. Thierry Guetta), was sponsored by SCOPE Miami and is the most prominent attraction by far. You can also see a few other works of the French-born artist below.
